The implementation of the "one prevention and double reduction" technology allows for the simultaneous control of multiple pests and diseases, reducing the population of earworms and minimizing the spread of diseases. This approach addresses the long-standing challenges of pest management during the mid-to-late growth stages of corn, ultimately leading to higher yields and more stable production. However, current challenges persist due to the tall height of corn plants and dense fields, making manual pest control less effective and inefficient. To tackle this issue, Xigang Town has taken proactive measures by collaborating with experts from the Municipal Agriculture Bureau. They have initiated aerial spraying operations using drones equipped with GPS technology, which significantly improves efficiency and coverage. The use of GPS-guided aerial spraying not only reduces labor costs and saves time but also ensures even distribution of pesticides, resulting in better pest control outcomes. Agricultural technicians from the town visited local villages in advance to inform residents about the flight operations and distributed notices to village officials to ensure transparency and safety. The aerial defense operation focused on the high-yield demonstration area in Gaomu Village, covering an area of 10,000 mu and involving 12 villages. According to reports, the implementation of this advanced technology has led to a yield increase of over 10% in summer corn. This initiative not only boosts productivity but also sets a promising example for sustainable and efficient agricultural practices in the region.
