Completed in late 2006, the Shanghai Metropolitan Headquarters is a fully intelligent office building designed to harmonize with its urban surroundings. Located at the intersection of Tibet Middle Road and Fuzhou Road in the heart of Shanghai, it is near major landmarks such as People's Park, People's Square, Beihai Community, the Shanghai Museum, and the Shanghai Municipal Government. The building benefits from excellent transportation access, with Metro Lines 1, 2, and 8 passing nearby. Despite the high foot traffic, the parking management system effectively handles the demand without causing significant pressure on the lot. The parking area consists of two levels underground, offering 167 parking spaces primarily for office use. Given its central location, the building attracts a large number of vehicles. To prevent traffic congestion and ensure a seamless experience, the PM910 system was introduced. When a vehicle approaches the entrance, the sensor detects it, and the PM910 machine automatically prints a ticket with the car’s information and issues it. At the same time, a camera captures an image of the vehicle for record-keeping. Once the driver takes the ticket, the gate opens automatically, allowing quick access to the parking area. Inside the garage, drivers are guided to available spaces by indicators above each lane. Upon reaching a suitable spot, they can park based on the visual signals provided. When exiting, the vehicle triggers the exit sensor, and another photo is taken. The driver then presents the ticket at the toll booth. The system compares the two images for verification—ensuring consistency and handling any discrepancies if necessary. After payment, the ticket is processed quickly, and the gate opens smoothly. Since implementing this advanced parking management solution, the Shanghai Metropolitan Headquarters has significantly improved its parking efficiency.
