China’s trade deficit with ASEAN was US$16.34 billion, a 38-fold increase over the previous year. After ASEAN ranks among the EU, the US and Japan, it is China's fourth largest trading partner. At the same time, China has become the largest trading partner of ASEAN. The products imported by China from ASEAN are mainly electromechanical products with high added value and bringing more employment to ASEAN countries. According to customs data, in 2010, China imported 82.94 billion US dollars of mechanical and electrical products from ASEAN, an increase of 39.4%, accounting for 53.7% of China's total imports from ASEAN. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, China's non-financial direct investment in ASEAN reached US$2.57 billion in 2010, a year-on-year increase of 12%, which exceeded the direct investment of US$2.13 billion in the year. At present, all ASEAN countries attach importance to expanding exports to China, attracting Chinese investment, and seeking Chinese financing support for large-scale cooperation projects. As a good neighbor, good friend and good partner of the ASEAN countries, China will, as always, adhere to the principle of being a good neighbor and partner, strengthen good-neighborliness and friendship, deepen regional cooperation, and push China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation to a new height. With the continuous advancement of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area construction, private enterprises in mainland China have also responded positively. According to incomplete statistics, at present, only Hunan has 80,000 people in ASEAN countries, and more than 1,300 companies have invested and established, with a total investment of 1.4 billion US dollars, involving hardware, home appliances, clothing and luggage. In addition, there are also mahogany processing plants, asbestos tile factories, rubber processing plants, television factories, hydropower plants, etc. in Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. At present, promoting regional economic integration and maintaining the momentum and vitality of Asian economic growth are common tasks facing Asian countries and regions. As a strategic partner, China and ASEAN should continue to maintain regional peace and stability and promote common prosperity and development as their main tasks. Mutual support and close cooperation, maintain the momentum of bilateral multilateral high-level exchanges among leaders, implement the second strategic partnership action plan, build the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and promote all-round interconnection and infrastructure such as infrastructure and transportation facilitation, as well as finance, The opening and integration of the capital market will strengthen cooperation in agriculture, environmental protection, disaster reduction and sanitation, and promote social and cultural exchanges.
