What do you know about the degradation of plastic flexible packaging materials?

In order to meet the needs, people have tried various ways to prevent or delay the degradation of certain materials; at the same time, people have come up with various ways to cause or accelerate the degradation of certain materials. Among the materials belonging to the latter are plastic flexible packaging materials.

So far, according to the definition of degradation, the world's plastic flexible packaging materials are basically three: First, biodegradable plastic flexible packaging materials; Second, degradable plastic flexible packaging materials; Third, non-degradable plastic flexible packaging materials. Based on these three basic concepts, it can be further subdivided according to the chemical composition. Of course, according to different definitions, some people are classified into all degradable plastic flexible packaging materials, partially degradable plastic flexible packaging materials, and refractory plastic flexible packaging materials.

No matter what definition is used, no matter what the name is, when the merchant chooses, it is necessary to understand how the degradation of the plastic flexible packaging occurs, so that it is scientifically appropriate. Mr. Wang Shouhong recently compiled the “Perspective Degradable Flexible Packaging Materials” to reveal three typical plastic flexible packaging materials.

Biodegradable plastic flexible packaging materials. If a plastic flexible packaging material can become carbon dioxide and water under certain realistic conditions, and this material meets most international standards and national standards, it can be called biodegradable materials. The so-called reality conditions refer to temperature, humidity, microorganisms and other conditions. Currently, practical biodegradable plastic flexible packaging materials include polylactic acid, starch-polyester blend, polyester-polylactic acid blend, and polyester.

Degradable plastic flexible packaging materials. A material is a degradable material if it triggers decomposition into basic elements under certain conditions and meets most international and national standards. There is a debate about the differences between biodegradable and biodegradable materials, as they all have the commonality of releasing carbon dioxide and water. For some degradable materials, the only reason for not meeting the biodegradation criteria is a longer degradation time. The other difference is that intense heat, moisture, or UV radiation is often the main cause of degradation of the degradable material; biodegradable materials are microbes. Typically, a low density polyethylene / high density polyethylene - oxidizer blend.

Non-degradable plastic flexible packaging material. Non-degradable plastic flexible packaging materials can break into pieces but do not break down into basic elements and do not change their chemical composition. For example, putting a small amount of starch into an abandoned polyethylene bag, the ultimate result is that the bag is broken after moisture. But the polyethylene molecule has not changed, just like cutting a bag with scissors. Commonly used are low density polyethylene / high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene - starch blends.

R290 is refrigerant grade propane, a natural, or "not in kind", refrigerant suitable for use in a range of refrigeration and air conditioning applications. The use of R290 is increasing due to its low environmental impact and excellent thermodynamic performance. It is non-toxic with zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and very low GWP (Global Warming Potential). It is a flammable refrigerant and therefore not suitable for retrofitting existing fluorocarbon refrigerant systems.
