High-speed horizontal spiral disc centrifuge works

The horizontal screw discharge centrifuge is primarily used for solid-liquid separation. It effectively removes most of the solid particles from the mixture. After that, the liquid is further processed by a disc centrifuge, which separates even smaller solid particles, resulting in a highly clear liquid.

This high-speed horizontal spiral disc centrifuge combines two key components: a horizontal screw discharge centrifuge and a disc centrifuge. The material enters the inner cylinder of the horizontal screw centrifuge through a feeding pipe and then flows into the rotating drum via the feed port. Under the influence of centrifugal force, the heavier solid particles are deposited on the inner wall of the drum, forming a layer of sediment. The screw continuously pushes these solids toward the conical end of the drum and discharges them through the sludge outlet. Meanwhile, the lighter liquid forms an inner liquid ring, which overflows into the disc centrifuge through the overflow end of the drum.

As the liquid enters the disc centrifuge, it flows through the narrow gaps between the discs. Due to centrifugal force, the heavier solid particles move toward the lower surface of each disc and accumulate on the upper disc. These particles slide along the disc surface, separate from the discs, and collect in the part of the drum with the largest diameter. Eventually, they are discharged through the sludge outlet. The lighter liquid, on the other hand, flows along the upper surface of the lower disc and moves toward the center of the drum, finally exiting the machine through the drainage port.

The combination of the horizontal screw discharge centrifuge and the disc centrifuge ensures efficient and thorough separation of solids from liquids. This system is widely used in industries where high clarity and purity of the final liquid product are essential, such as food processing, chemical manufacturing, and wastewater treatment.
