Insulating gloves are essential protective equipment designed to safeguard hands when working with DC electrical devices or AC voltage systems up to 10kV. These gloves must possess excellent electrical insulation properties, high mechanical strength, and a soft texture with a hardness ranging between 30° and 35°. They must also meet the technical standards outlined in GB17622-1998, "General Technical Conditions for Insulating Gloves for Live Working."
The main technical requirements include:
1. **Electrical Performance**: Insulating gloves need to provide reliable electrical insulation. The test conditions, waveform, and procedures should follow the guidelines specified in GB/T 16927.1-1997.
2. **Anti-Aging Performance**: After undergoing heat aging tests, the tensile strength and elongation at break of the gloves should remain above 80% of their original values. Additionally, tensile permanent deformation should not exceed 15%.
3. **Low-Temperature Resistance**: When tested under low-temperature conditions, the gloves should show no cracks, breaks, or damage upon visual inspection. They must also pass an insulation test without any moisture absorption treatment.
4. **Flame Resistance**: After a flame test, if the burning flame does not spread beyond the 55mm reference line on the glove within 55 seconds after the flame is removed, the product is considered qualified.
5. **Mechanical Properties**:
- Tensile strength should be at least 14MPa on average, and elongation at break should not be less than 600%.
- Tensile permanent deformation must not exceed 15%.
- The mechanical piercing force should be no less than 18N/mm.
By meeting these rigorous standards, insulating gloves can ensure the safety and comfort of workers handling electrical equipment. Whether in maintenance, repair, or installation tasks, these gloves play a crucial role in preventing electric shocks and other potential hazards. Proper selection and regular testing of insulating gloves are vital to maintaining a safe working environment.
