Haikou Crane Supply - Haikou Double Beam Crane Supply - How to do the crane maintenance work?

Crane maintenance is a critical concern for owners and operators, yet many still find the process confusing or unclear. As construction projects grow in scale and complexity, lifting equipment such as cranes has become essential in both engineering and daily operations. However, despite its importance, many people lack the necessary knowledge to properly maintain these machines, which can lead to safety risks and operational failures. When it comes to crane hook repair, the first step is disassembly and inspection. All components—such as hooks, shafts, beams, pulleys, and bearings—should be cleaned and lubricated. Cracks are not allowed in any of these parts, and threaded sections must be tight. Bearings should be intact, and pulleys should rotate smoothly. If there are signs of damage, like knife marks or cracks at the undercut, the part should be replaced immediately. Next, check the wear on the dangerous section of the hook. If the wear exceeds 10% of the original height, the hook must be replaced. After any overhaul, the hook should undergo testing: it should be suspended at 1.25 times the rated load for 10 minutes. The elastic deformation should not exceed 0.25% of the hook’s size, and no permanent deformation or cracks should be present after unloading. For plate hooks, the gap between plates after riveting should not exceed 0.3mm. Wire rope maintenance is equally important. Begin with a broken wire inspection—when more than 10% of the wires are broken within a single length, the rope should be scrapped. Radial wear exceeding 40% of the original diameter also requires replacement. If the rope shows significant deformation, such as a diameter reduction to 70% of the original or exposed rope core, it should be replaced immediately. Proper lubrication involves cleaning the rope with a brush and kerosene before applying a suitable lubricant, such as dip-coated steel wire rope (Q/SY1152-65) or synthetic graphite calcium-based grease (SYA1405-65). For pulley repairs, start by disassembling and inspecting the pulley block. Check for cracks, and ensure that the pulley shaft does not have more than 30% wear in diameter or 5% cone wear. Any excessive wear means the part must be replaced. The groove of the pulley should be checked using a sample plate, and radial wear should not exceed 30% of the wall thickness. If it does, the pulley must be replaced. Otherwise, it can be repaired and rechecked. The bottom and side clearance should not exceed 0.5mm, and the center line deviation should not be more than 0.2mm. The overall lateral swing after assembly should not exceed D/1000, where D is the nominal diameter of the pulley. Proper crane maintenance is essential for safety, efficiency, and longevity. Whether it's hook repair, wire rope care, or pulley maintenance, each component plays a vital role. At our platform, we provide comprehensive resources on engineering machinery maintenance, crane servicing, and equipment repair.
