Haikou Crane Supply - Haikou Double Beam Crane Supply - How to do the crane maintenance work?

Crane maintenance is a crucial aspect that every owner should pay close attention to. While the industry may have some standard practices, many people are often confused when it comes to actual crane maintenance tasks. As construction projects continue to expand, lifting machinery has become an essential part of both engineering and daily operations. However, despite its importance, many individuals lack proper knowledge about how to properly maintain cranes. When it comes to crane hook repair, the first step is to disassemble and inspect key components such as the hook, shaft, beam, pulley, and bearings. These parts must be cleaned and lubricated regularly. Any cracks in the hook, beam, or pulley shafts are not allowed, and threaded parts should remain tight. Bearings must be in good condition, and pulleys should rotate smoothly. If there are any knife marks or cracks at the undercut area, the hook should be replaced immediately. Next, check the wear on the critical section of the hook. If the wear exceeds 10% of the original height, the hook must be replaced. After overhaul, the hook should be tested under 1.25 times the rated load for 10 minutes. The elastic deformation should not exceed 0.25% of the hook size, and there should be no permanent deformation or cracks after unloading. For plate hooks, after riveting, the gap between the plates should not exceed 0.3mm. Wire rope maintenance is equally important. First, check for broken wires—when the number of broken wires exceeds 10% of the total, the wire rope should be scrapped. Radial wear exceeding 40% of the original diameter also requires replacement. If the wire rope’s diameter decreases to 70% of the original or if the core is exposed, it should be replaced. Lubrication is vital: clean the wire rope with a brush and kerosene before applying lubricant. It is recommended to use either dip coating with steel wire rope oil (Q/SY1152-65) or synthetic graphite calcium-based grease (SYA1405-65). For pulley repairs, start by disassembling and inspecting the pulley block. Check for cracks, and ensure the pulley shaft has no cracks. The journal should not wear more than 30% of its original diameter, and the cone should not exceed 5%. If these limits are exceeded, the pulley must be replaced. Inspect the pulley groove using a sample plate. Radial wear should not exceed 30% of the wall thickness; otherwise, it needs to be replaced. If it doesn’t meet the standards, it can be repaired and rechecked. After maintenance, the bottom and side clearance should not exceed 0.5mm, and the deviation between the groove centerline and the pulley centerline should not be more than 0.2mm, with a maximum lateral deviation of 1mm. Check the shaft hole for defects after overhaul. The allowable defect area should not exceed 0.25 cm², and the depth should not go beyond 4mm. Once assembled, the pulley should rotate smoothly by hand, with a lateral swing not exceeding D/1000, where D is the nominal diameter of the pulley. Proper crane maintenance ensures safety, efficiency, and longevity of equipment.
