Numerical control practice of spring inspection

The digital measurement of circular motion [1] involves calculating the circumference, which is given by the formula C = 2πr, where r represents the radius. When the circumference is evenly divided at its edge, the arc length between two adjacent points is L = α × r, directly proportional to the radius. A larger radius increases the distance between these points, making it easier to detect using light interruption methods. However, a larger radius also results in a larger grating disk, which may not be suitable for systems with size or range limitations. Standard photoelectric switches are unable to determine the direction of rotation of the grating disk, thus limiting their ability to measure changes in data. The ST256C, on the other hand, is a dual-light-speed direct-shooting photoelectric sensor that uses an infrared photodiode and a high-sensitivity phototransistor. It offers high resolution and non-contact detection, and can identify both the direction of movement and rotational speed. Its internal circuit allows four distinct output states depending on how the object passes through the photosensitive gap. When an object moves from top to bottom, the outputs of pins 3 and 5 are 11, 01, 00, and 10, respectively. If the object moves in the opposite direction, the sequence becomes 11, 10, 00, and 01. Based on these patterns, the system can distinguish between forward and reverse motion. The ST256C has a photosensitive gap of 1.3 mm and a beam spacing of 0.7 mm, so the grating disk must have teeth spaced at least 1.3 mm apart. With four detected states per pass, the number of teeth on the disk depends on the required measurement range. For example, if the maximum measurement is 300 units, the disk should have 75 teeth, resulting in a diameter of approximately 62 mm (calculated as 1.3 × 150 / π). In terms of system design [2][3], this system employs the HT48R10A-1 microcontroller as the central processing unit, with a seven-segment digital display directly driven by the microcontroller. The HT48R10A-1 is an 8-bit RISC-based microcontroller featuring 1K x 14 bit OTP/MASKROM, 64 x 8 SRAM, and 63 instructions. It includes special functions such as suspend, wake-up, oscillator selection, and buzzer drive, enhancing flexibility while reducing overall cost. The ST256C’s two output terminals are connected to PC.1 and PC.2 of the MCU. These ports are multiplexed, but can be configured as general-purpose I/Os. By monitoring the level changes on these pins, the MCU can determine whether the system is counting forward or backward. Once the data is processed, it is displayed via the LED, enabling digital measurement of spring displacement. In conclusion, the system is designed to be cost-effective and easy to program. In practical applications, additional circuits such as voltage regulation, power-on initialization, automatic shutdown, undervoltage protection, and switching circuits have been incorporated. This ensures stability and reliability, and the system has been successfully implemented in electronic scales like MJ-EBS-001A, B, and C, delivering significant economic benefits.
