Trough Conveyor Commissioning Inspection Project

The main structure of the SCD clinker trough conveyor includes several essential components designed for efficient and safe operation. These components consist of the drive unit, head assembly, tail assembly, conveying section, lubrication system, frame, track, protective guards, and safety mechanisms. Each part plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth material transportation. Before starting the trough conveyor, a thorough pre-operation inspection is necessary to identify potential issues and prevent unexpected failures. This includes checking the lubrication level of the chain and sprocket, ensuring proper oiling at all drip points. It's also important to inspect the pins for any signs of looseness or detachment. The conveyor should be free from debris or foreign objects that could interfere with its function. The tensioner’s tightness must be verified to ensure optimal chain tension. The oil level and quality in the gearbox should be checked, as well as the condition of all bolts and fasteners at each connection point. The wear on the head and tail wheels, along with their bolt tightness, should be examined, and the skirt trigger mechanism should be confirmed to be clear and functional. During operation, continuous monitoring is required to maintain safe and efficient performance. Operators should listen for unusual noises, vibrations, or odors from the motor and reducer. The meshing of the chain and gears, as well as the chain’s lubrication, should be regularly inspected. The skirts should move smoothly, and the T-pins of the support rollers should not be missing. Each roller must make proper contact with the track, and the hydraulic coupling’s transmission condition should be evaluated. After a trip or shutdown, such as when the hammer breaks or the grate cooler conveyor system restarts, it's vital to check the material load on the conveyor. All feeding ports should be open and free from blockages. Bolts and connections must be checked for looseness or detachment, and the idler speed should remain within controlled limits. For routine maintenance, the condition of the skirts should be assessed periodically. The rollers and tracks should be inspected for wear, and the T-pins of the rollers should be checked for loss. The hydraulic coupling and reducer’s oil quality and quantity need to be monitored, with timely additions or replacements. The tension spring’s condition should be reviewed, and the chain and sprocket wear should be evaluated. Any bent chains or deformed skirts must be addressed. Finally, all bolts should be checked for tightness, and any loose or missing ones should be tightened or replaced promptly.
